[★] A Summary of Yuuto
Yuuto Yumeno was born to Satou and Shugo Yumeno in the year xx19. He was also born with an unusual magic ability: The ability to control and cross spacetime.
From the time he could count, young Yuuto was able to cross into other timelines. His mother, well aware of this power, was an exceptionally patient person. She would be feeding a three old snacks one moment and have a rebellious thirteen year old slamming doors in the next. Until he was seven, Yuuto's power was also largely out of his control. He had a guardian spirit named Pally (His "Pal,") but all she could do was ensure that he returned from every wander. Young Yuuto came to blur the lines between worlds, and saw every version of his family as equally "homey." It certainly helped that Satou was always willing to welcome Yuuto into her home. Even in worlds where she did not give birth to him, she had a talent for immediately recognizing her son and picking up the mantle of mothermood.
This changed when he was seven years old, and he witnessed the death of his birth mother.
And immediately flipped to the version where "death" was "survived," and he could be with her again.
From that moment on, Yuuto leaned more and more into his ability to choose the ending he wanted. Despite Pally's attempts to drag him back to his original world, Yuuto grew more adept at using his power and began actively resisting her pull. By the time that he was ten years old, Yuuto had developed his ability to the point that he didn't only travel alternate timelines: He decided that he was not interested in the world where his mother died and his family fell apart, but would find a new reality. A better one.
... So yeah, he's like super fucked up. Despite everything, Yuuto is a cheerful optimist. He is incredibly kind and likes to help people out, though his detached nature prevents him from always understanding how to help. He's fiercely loyal to his family and is selectively devoted to others. Having never grown up in a stable environment, Yuuto can also be very childish in some aspects; whether it's his poor work ethic, naivety, or lack of social understanding. His lack of linear living and talent for avoiding difficult things certainly leave him ill-equipped for handling stress. Also, he's kind of an idiot.
But he means well. He really does. And as he grows older, Yuuto is forced to recognize his flaws... and then, rather than address them, he picks a self-sacrificing ending to his own story. I mean. I did say he's an idiot.
